Socceroos know how to "open up" Denmark

Socceroos flyer Aziz Behich says video analysis has provided Australia with clues on how to "open up" World Cup opponents Denmark.

Finding those holes will be critical as to whether the Socceroos come through their World Cup moment of truth at Samara's Cosmos Arena on Thursday.

A do-or-die occasion arises in the Socceroos' second match in Russia after their first-up loss to France.

A loss must be avoided if Bert van Marwijk's side want to continue on past the group stage.

The odds favour the Scandinavians, who defeated Peru 1-0 to put the world No.12s in the drivers seat to qualify for the knock-out rounds.

Denmark will carry a 617-day unbeaten streak into the clash with the Socceroos but Behich says Australia won't be intimidated.

"We're confident," Behich said.

"If we continue the way we've been going as a group, we've come a long way since Bert first took over ... we showed that in the last game.

"I'm confident, the boys are really confident and upbeat about tomorrow

"We trained well again this week and we're ready."

A major part of Australia's task is creating chances.

The Socceroos' goal against France came when Samuel Umtiti's bizarre handball brought Mile Jedinak to the penalty spot.

It was the only effort that an Australia put on target tacross the 90 minutes, from four shots in total.

Behich said everyone understood their forward output needed to improve against Denmark.

"I thought we played really well but we couldn't create real clear cut chances," he said.

"We analysed what we did right and wrong.

"Our coaching staff have analysed Denmark really well and showed us where we can open them up and which players we can get free.

"Hopefully we can create chances and hit the back of the net."
