Security guard's streaker tackle tip

When it comes to bringing down streakers, sports officials have much to consider.

First and foremost is catching and felling the pitch invader.

But the other big factor is minimising contact with those body parts you really don't want to touch.

And it seems Sydney security guard Mohammed Ali has discovered the perfect technique after a copybook take down of a naked man during Saturday night's Asian Champions League final at Parramatta Stadium.

Ali was patrolling the sideline during the first leg clash between the Western Sydney Wanderers and Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal FC when a streaker charged onto the field for his shot at glory.

Like a flash, the ground official rounded up his prey and floored him with a diving legs tackle that would do any NRL star proud.

But more impressively he did so without even a brush of the pitch invader's, er tackle.

Speaking about the incident, Ali revealed his mindset when the streaker appeared and offered a technique tip that will surely be taken on board by fellow ground officials across the globe.

"The key is to stay away from that area and try and get your head as low as possible - meaning below the knees," Ali said.

"That's when I just thought I've got to wrap him up around the knees and just grab his ankles."

Despite his cool demeanour and perfect style that would suggest plenty of practice, Ali had never been confronted by a streaker before the incident at Parramatta Stadium.

"(It was) the first time and hopefully it will be the last," he said.

Showing a true sense of humour, Ali said the only hope for future streakers was to use Vaseline over their body, "so if I do come and get you, you might have a chance to get away."

But even lubed up, we'd still back Ali to bring down his man.
