Ronaldo set to equal Portuguese legend

Portuguese media have highlighted that Real Madrid's qualification for the Champions League final in Milan means Cristiano Ronaldo will equal the record of Portuguese soccer legend Eusebio, who played in four finals of the tournament.

However, the Black Panther only managed to gain the European title - then called the European Cup - once, in the 1961-62 season, because he lost the other three finals with his team Benfica.

By contrast, Ronaldo holds two Champions League titles (one with Manchester United and one with Real Madrid) and lost the final that pitted the Red Devils against Barcelona in the 2008-09 season.

The Whites striker, 31, will have another opportunity on May 28 against Atletico Madrid to equal the record of Eusebio, who died in 2014 and with whom Ronaldo competes to be considered the best Portuguese soccer player in history.

"He equals Eusebio: Ronaldo in his fourth final", is the headline on Thursday of the Portuguese newspaper Record, referring to the achievement which the newspaper A Bola also mentioned on its front page.
