Roma sign Mohamed Salah from Chelsea

Roma have signed Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah on a one-year transfer deal from Chelsea, the Serie A side said late on Thursday.

The Giallorossi offered the 23-year-old a four-year contract, paying Chelsea five million euros ($A7.4 million) with the right to negotiate full ownership in June 2016.

Salah played in the Serie A from February to May on loan to Fiorentina, scoring nine goals from 26 appearances.

After welcoming the diminutive Egyptian, Roma on Friday were set to sign the towering Edin Dzeko, who left Manchester City on a transfer deal reportedly worth 18 million euros.

The Bosnian striker, 29, was to undergo medical tests before signing his new contract.
