Roar's Solorzano out of Glory clash

Brisbane Roar defender Jack Hingert says he feels for injury-plagued striker Jean Carlos Solorzano, whose A-League comeback on Friday night lasted just eight minutes.

A second-half substitute in Brisbane's scoreless draw with Sydney FC, Solorzano was making his first appearance of the season after overcoming a pre-season foot injury but barely got a touch before his hamstring gave way.

Scans on Monday revealed only a low-grade hamstring strain - a much better outcome than initially feared for the Costa Rican, who will miss Sunday's clash with Perth Glory as a result.

But it's still a major setback for the 27-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season and faces a battle to prove to coach John Aloisi he will still be worthy of a foreign player spot.

"It's disappointing," Hingert said.

"I know as well, I've been through many injuries myself.

"There's nothing worse than when you've just come back and something like that happens again.

"But apparently it's not too bad so hopefully he's back sooner rather than later."

The Roar has not put a timeframe on Solorzano's injury but they could have sorely done with his services this weekend, given striker Jamie Maclaren will be on international duty, along with Olyroos teammate Corey Brown and Socceroos midfielder Matt McKay.

Instead, Aloisi may be forced to play winger Brandon Borrello at the point of attack, or alternatively he could look to Dimitri Petratos or in-form youth teamer Nick D'Agostino as a central striking option.

Meanwhile, veteran goalkeeper Michael Theo (quad) is also likely to miss a third straight match as he battles his own injury woes.
