Record 27 straight WC games with a goal

Eden Hazard's successful penalty to open the scoring for Belgium against Tunisia ensured goals have been scored in the first 27 matches of a World Cup, setting a record mark.

The past streak stood at 26, the number of games played at the entire 1954 World Cup which had no 0-0 draws.

Hazard's spot-kick was the 13th awarded at Russia 2018, equalling the mark of penalties from the entire 64-game tournament in Brazil four years ago.
