Porto upset Bayern
Porto punished defensive mistakes by Bayern Munich for an upset 3-1 victory, while a brace from Luis Suarez gave Barcelona a 3-1 triumph at Paris Saint-German in first leg matches in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday.
Two early goals by Ricardo Quaresma and a third by Jackson Martinez midway through the second half stunned German champions Bayern at Porto's Estadio do Dragao.
In Paris, four-time European champions Barcelona moved close to a semi-final place with a convincing win over a PSG side missing key players though injury and suspension.
Bayern, aiming for fifth successive semi-final, were caught cold by Porto who took advantage of mistakes by Xabi Alonso and Dante.
Alonso was dispossessed by Martinez who was then brought down by Manuel
Neuer as he rounded the goalkeeper.
No longer the last man, Neuer was booked but escaped a red card and Ricardo Quaresmo stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way from the penalty spot in the third minute.
Seven minutes later, Brazilian central defender Dante failed to control the ball and Quaresma pounced to advance on Neuer and slide the ball past the keeper.
Bayern got an important away goal in the 28th minute when Thiago Alcantara met a low cross to sweep in from close range.
Neuer fumbled an Alex Sandro centre onto the bar and Casemiro headed wide from a Quaresma cross shortly before the break as Porto remained dangerous.
"We recovered quite well after going 2-0 down and actually controlled the game but then came the third goal," Bayern coach Pep Guardiola told Sky television.
In Paris, Neymar opened the scoring in the 18th minute to give Barcelona a first-half advantage PSG.
Lionel Messi, who had earlier curled a left-foot shot against the post, set the goal up with a pass into the area which Neymar met to slide the ball in.
PSG were without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marco Verratti and Serge Aurier through suspensions, while Thiago Motta was injured and David Luiz on the bench following injury.
The home side's problems worsened when defender Thiago Silva had to leave the pitch with a hamstring injury after 19 minutes to be replaced by Luiz.
Suarez beat three defenders to make it two in the 67th minute and scored another fine goal into the roof of the net in the 79th after nutmegging Luiz, before Gregory van der Wiel scored a consolation for the home side three minutes later.
"I prefer the win than talking about my goals," Suarez said.
The defeat ended PSG's 33-game unbeaten run at home in Europe and was revenge for Barca for a 3-2 defeat in Paris in the group stage.
