Wellington Phoenix have snared their second defensive signing in the space of 24 hours after agreeing to terms with Antony Golec.

Centre-back Golec, 28, joined his sixth A-League club after he was released on Tuesday by Central Coast.

He played 31 games for the Mariners but only nine this season in his return from a broken leg.

Before that, he played for Sydney FC, Adelaide United, Western Sydney Wanderers and Perth Glory, and has 90 A-League games to his credit.

"I have been watching Wellington Phoenix and believe it's the most exciting team in the competition," Golec said of the sixth-placed club.

"I believe in what (coach) Mark Rudan is doing here and I want be a big part of it and do my best to help this club be successful again."

Golec's deal, until the end of the season, was announced a day after the Phoenix confirmed the signing of New Zealand international fullback Justin Gulley.

Both could come into contention to face the league-leading Glory in Perth on Saturday, with captain Andrew Durante serving a one-game suspension.
