If it wasn’t bad enough that Peru ended Australia’s dreams of qualifying for the knockout stages of the 2018 World Cup, one fan from the South American nation did his best to rub it in.

Following the 2-0 loss, a downtrodden Cahill took off his jersey and walked over to several younger Socceroos fans in the stands.

When he got there, he tried handing the jersey to a kid who looked no older than ten.

As the jersey passed hands, a sneaky Peruvian fan jumped in and got hold of the jersey.

Thankfully for the child, Cahill refused to let go of the playing strip which left the Peru supporter in a precarious position.

After copping a bunch of dirty looks from the adults standing around, the Peru fan let it go of the jersey.

Social media users weren’t happy about the lack of respect the exhibited by the fan.
