Oklahoma City Energy score flip goal against Sacramento Republic FC in United Soccer League
Football in the United States might not attract the same attention as it does in Europe or South America but it should if the footage above is anything to go by.
Oklahoma City Energy and Sacramento Republic FC were still locked up at nil-all, 30 minutes into their United Soccer League match.
Something special was needed to break the deadlock and it started when Michael Harris supplied a flip throw for Oklahoma to get the ball down into the attacking zone.
A header then found its way to Miguel Gonzalez in the goal square who produced a spectacular bicycle kick that leaves the goalkeeper flat-footed on its way to the back of the net.
He wasn't the only one caught off-guard, with the commentator going from casually describing a run-of-the-mill play to full-blown excitement after the goal is scored.
"Harris unveils the flip throw again, and fires into the box, ball comes down, SETTING UP A BICYCLE KICK, AND IT'S IN, UNBELIEVABLE FROM OKC ENERGY," he roars.
