Guadalajara defender scores stunning own goal

Guadalajara defender Jair Pereira scored a superb dipping header that will undoubtedly be played again and again on television - unfortunately it was at the wrong end.

While running to intercept a cross into the 18-yard box, the Mexican player got a touch to the ball and headed the ball in over his keeper.

It was a goal any striker would have been proud to score, but obviously Pereira wasn't quite as stoked about it as he would if he'd scored at the right end.

He rolled around on the ground after the goal as if he'd been fouled, but it was more likely dur to the emotional pain he was experiencing at the time.

However, he can console himself with the fact that his goal was somewhat spectacular, unlike Minnesota United goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock's baffling own goal below.
