Messi treated special: Luis

Atletico Madrid's Brazilian defender Filipe Luis has reiterated his accusation that Lionel Messi enjoys special treatment, stressing that he always says what he thinks, even if it causes a stir.

The fullback told TV Esporte Interativo in early March that the Barcelona star is protected by the media and La Liga after he was sent off for his tackle on Messi at the Camp Nou.

On Tuesday, after Atletico qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven, Luis refused to back down over the statements.

"There are players who are treated differently and that does not mean they are not the best in the world," he said.
