Lowe proud of Glory despite finals exit

Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe says his players should be proud of what they've achieved this season, which ended with a 2-0 elimination final loss to Melbourne City.

Lowe felt that his side was outplayed for large portions of the game at AAMI Park, golden boot winner Bruno Fornaroli finishing City's good work with two goals.

Lowe was upset that Fornaroli's first goal wasn't disallowed, after the Uruguayan collected a defender in the head with his boot, but the coach said that wasn't the difference on the night.

With the dust still settling on his team's A-League campaign, Lowe couldn't fault his playing group's commitment and work ethic in mounting a late-season charge to finish fifth.

"We've done ever so well to come this far, we deserved to come this far, it's just a little bit disappointing that we were a little bit behind City in performance," Lowe said.

"I think we've done ever so well. It's probably a little bit raw at the moment and emotional after a game that you lose but in a couple of days time we'll sit down and reflect on what we've achieved this year.

"We've been to an FFA Cup final, we've been to the (A-League) finals ... we've done ever so well.

"We've done magnificent, so maybe when we look back and reflect then everyone can be proud of what we've achieved."

Lowe feels Glory are well-placed to push higher up the ladder next season, with most of his current squad already contracted and with as few as four changes to be made.

He said the club is well-advanced in negotiations to add more talent ahead of its next campaign with announcements coming as early as next week.
