Socceroos star Matthew Leckie scored a brilliant, curling 25m goal to win the match for his German side Ingolstadt over Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

With the scores locked at 0-0 in the second half, Leckie accepted a pass from a teammate just outside the box before gliding past a defender.

The Aussie then unleashed a peach of a shot with his left foot, curling the ball beyond Augsburg keeper Marwin Hitz into the top right corner.

Such was the sweetness of the strike, Hitz, who was positioned in the middle of the goal, failed to even get a hand on the ball before it cannoned into the back of the net.

The goal gave newly promoted Ingolstadt its second win of the season and showed Leckie was in perfect form ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers when he will be searching for his first Socceroos goal.

Meanhile, Aussie teammateTommy Rogic showed his silky skills, scoring a superb goal for Celtic in the Scottish Football League win over St Johnstone.

Taking a pass just inside the penalty box, Rogic showcased his terrific touch to cut past two defenders before beating the keeper with a perfectly placed low shot from an acute angle.

The goal helped Celtic secure a 3-1 win.
