Leckie in doubt for Socceroos WC qualifier

Key Socceroo Mathew Leckie is in doubt to play in Thursday's World Cup qualifier against Kyrgyzstan, the German-based striker yet to leave Europe because of sickness.

Leckie was due to arrive in Canberra on Tuesday, but the 24-year-old was given medical advice not to board his flight from Germany due to illness.

At this stage he has not be ruled out of the fixture at GIO Stadium, but his absence would be a blow given his excellent form for Bundesliga side FC Ingolstadt.

Fellow forward Tom Rogic is the only other member of the Socceroos still to touch down in Canberra, with the rest of the squad to train together on Tuesday afternoon.
