Lazio break Cagliari hearts in Serie A win

Lazio scored twice in stoppage time as hosts Cagliari were beaten 2-1 to suffer their first defeat in 16 games.

Giovanni Simeone's eighth-minute strike looked to be enough for the Isolani at the Sardegna Arena before Luis Alberto levelled three minutes into time added on.

Felipe Caicedo then netted a dramatic winner eight minutes into stoppage time as the visitors moved to within three points of the Serie A summit.

Ciro Immobile was denied by Cagliari goalkeeper Rafael after two minutes but Lazio found themselves behind when Argentinean forward Simeone fired into the top corner.

Just as Cagliari looked like moving into the top four, Alberto fired in from outside the penalty area and Caicedo headed in a late winner.
