Keeper scores bizarre own goal

A Jordanian keeper has scored one of the most bizarre own goal’s ever after blocking a shot and then kicking the ball overhead into his own net.

Playing in the Ammam derby, Al Faisaly goalie Mohammad Shatnawi looked to have pulled off a superb save in the 55th minute when he blocked a one-on-one shot from an Al Wihdat rival.

But with the ball at his feet and sitting on the turf, Shatnawi undid all his good work when he attempted a clearance rather than diving on the ball.

Instead of preventing a goal-scoring chance, the 29-year-old's overhead kick ended up in the back of the net to gift Al Wihdat a 2-0 lead, en route to a 3-0 victory.

Video of the goal has gone viral and earned the 29-year-old an infamous place on a football website dedicated to great goals.

It's also an act he probably couldn't repeat if he tried.
