Socceroos left-back Alex Gersbach is reportedly being watched by Italian powerhouse Juventus on the back of a successful first season in Norway.

The 19-year-old only made the move from Sydney FC to Rosenborg in January but an even bigger opportunity could beckon.

Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Fabio Paratici have tracked Gersbach's progress for several weeks, according to calciomercato.com.

The website claimed the Serie A champions are not the only European club on Gersbach's trail, with Juventus impressed by his versatility down the left flank and increasingly keen on making a formal bid.

Gersbach made 26 appearances across all competitions this season as Rosenborg claimed the Norwegian league and cup double for an unprecedented second season in a row.

He also made his international debut for Australia in June and has since become a regular selection under coach Ange Postecoglou.

No Australian has ever played a senior fixture for Juventus, although three - James Troisi, Jess Vanstrattan and Max Vieri - have been contracted to the club.
