Hi-vis mix up leaves footballer red faced

This footballer has given us another reason why teams should never play in hi-vis kits.

Not only do they make players look like construction workers and are most unflattering for fans who aren’t in tip-top shape, they also obviously make mix-ups an issue.

Poor Michael Bostwick is the unfortunate soul who made this all-too apparent.

While playing for English League One (third division) club Peterborough United, Bostwick got the ball in midfield and saw what he though was a teammate open on the wing.

He played an accurate pass only to see the ball roll over the sideline and hit the feet of a ground steward dressed in the same colour.

Good luck trying to live this one down.
