Goalie in second WC bite scandal

Ivory Coast's goalkeeper has been embroiled in a – less sinister - biting scandal on the same day that Luis Suarez was accused of sinking his teeth into an opponent at the World Cup.

Boubacar Barry celebrated his team's solitary goal in the loss to Greece by taking a chunk out of the Estádio Castelao pitch.

Footage from the match shows Barry, with a mouth full of grass, celebrating into a camera positioned behind the net after Wilfried Bony's 74th minute equaliser.

It proved an otherwise forgettable day for the Ivorian shot-stopper, who couldn’t manage to save an injury-time penalty that secured Greece the 2-1 win and entry into the knockout stages.

Ivory Coast, who boast the likes of ex-Chelsea striker Dider Drogba and EPL stars Yaya and Kolo Toure, bowed out of the World Cup as a result of the loss.

Earlier, Luis Suarez had been accused of biting an Italian rival as Uruguay booked a spot in the knockout stages with a 1-0 win over the Azzurri.
