Glory defender to rein in wandering hand

Perth Glory defender Josh Risdon has vowed to keep his hands to himself as he attempts to put the nightmare of last year's FFA Cup final behind him.

Risdon became the major talking point of last year's 1-0 loss to Adelaide when he was sent off in the 58th minute for a second bookable offence.

As soon as Risdon made the split-second decision to tug on the shirt of Marcelo Carrusca after being dispossessed, he knew he was in big trouble.

Adelaide scored the winner shortly after Risdon was given his marching orders, and the 23-year-old has been forced to live with the pain of his mistake for the past 12 months.

But he'll get the chance to atone when he lines up for Glory in Saturday night's FFA Cup final against Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

"It wasn't my finest moment. It was an error in judgement. I've learnt from that," Risdon said.

"As soon as he blew the whistle, I knew I was going to get a second yellow.

"I've just got to keep my hands to myself on Saturday. I definitely won't do it again."

After playing in Saturday's final, Risdon will link up with the Socceroos squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh.

The prospect of making his Socceroos debut definitely excites Risdon.

But for now, his sole focus is on helping Glory break their 11-year title drought.
