Futsal player kicks rival in the head

A Brazilian female futsal player has escaped serious injury after being violently kicked in the head in one of the most brutal acts of unsportsmanlike behaviour ever witnessed in the game.

The incident occurred during the semi finals of the Futsal Female Championship in the Brazilian state of Acre on Tuesday, when the no.10 player in the orange strip was fouled by her opponent.

According to US media reports, the no.10 had dominated the match and had been "flashing all kind of skills and showboating".

And in footage of the match, the no.10 can be seen smiling as her trickery induces another foul.

But in a shocking act of violent revenge, the rival, no.11 in the black and white kit, runs at the floored player and unleashes a full-bloodied kick to her face and neck.

The ugly incident sparks immediate retaliation with players in orange rushing at the aggressor, forcing the referee to step in between the feuding players.

Meanwhile, the no.10 is able to pick herself up from the floor and, holding her jaw, walks off the court.
