Footy fan left gobsmacked by goal

Sports fans are prone to wearing their heart on their sleeve, riding every win and loss with joy and despair.

And quite often you only need to look at a supporter's face to read how their side is faring, as was the case during a recent football friendly between the USA and Switzerland.

With the scores locked at 0-0 just before half-time, US midfielder Dane 'Brek' Shea stepped up to take a free kick from outside the penalty box, finding the back of the net with a superb curling left-foot shot.

The goal sent supporters into raptures, but none more so than one fan who was left absolutely gobsmacked.

Footage of the man sitting with his mouth wide open in disbelief has gone viral and makes for hilarious viewing.

Clearly the fan wasn't banking on Shea's boot delivering.

Unfortunately, the jaw-dropping goal wasn't enough to secure victory, with Switzerland later leveling the scores for a 1-1 draw.
