Footballer Ronaldo has 30m followers
The number of Cristiano Ronaldo's followers on the social network Twitter has reached 30 million, the Inforpress website announced on Thursday.
"Wow! Reached 30 million followers on Twitter, it's amazing. Thanks everyone," Ronaldo tweeted.
Real Madrid's Portuguese star, whose Twitter handle is @Cristiano, became the most followed athlete on Twitter, followed by Sao Paulo's Kaka (@Kaka) with 20.9 million followers and the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James (@KingJames), who has 14.8 million followers.
In fourth place came Barcelona's Brazilian forward Neymar (@NeymarJR), with 14.4 million followers, while his compatriot Ronaldinho (@10Ronaldinho), currently playing for Queretaro in Mexico, came fifth with 10.7 million.
Manchester United's Wayne Rooney (@WayneRooney) came sixth with 9.9 million followers; Barcelona's Andres Iniesta (@andresiniesta8) was in seventh position with 9.6 million followers
His teammate, Gerard Pique (@3gerardpique), came eighth, with 9.4 million followers.
Xabi Alonso (@XabiAlonso) of Bayern Munich was ninth with 8.19 million followers, while NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) came in tenth place with 8.17 million followers.
As for soccer clubs, Real Madrid (@RealMadrid) has the most followers with 12.8 million people following the club's official content, followed by Barcelona (@FCBarcelona), which has 12.7 million followers.
In third came Arsenal (@Arsenal) with 4.5 million followers, while London neighbor Chelsea (@ChelseaFC) came fourth with 4.41 million. The Turkish club Galatasaray (@GalatasaraySK) was fifth with 4.2 million followers.
