Football player score freakish, throw-in goal

A US footballer has scored one of the most freakish goals of the season after stunning opponents and teammates alike with a long-range, front-flip throw-in bomb.

The incredible footage captured Texas high school player Michael Del Lewis lining up for a long range throw-in around the halfway line when he completely surprises by performing a front-flip before launching the ball into the night sky.

It arcs into the opponent’s penalty area where players from both sides try to jostle for position to get a head onto the incredible throw.

But the ball evades everyone except the keeper who throws a despairing hand out only to watch it settle in the back of his net.

Ironically, if the keeper hadn’t touched the ball, the goal wouldn’t have stood as a player can’t score directly from a throw-in.
