Football fans shower field with toilet paper
A French football match had to be temporarily halted after unruly fans covered the field with toilet paper and debris during a match between Lyon and Nice.
With Nice leading 1-0 late in the match, frustrated Lyon fans let their feelings be known by showering the field with any paper they could find.
There was so much debris showered from the stands that the turf resembled a recycling plant with the grass almost entirely covered,
With no chance of seeing the ball and potential safety concerns for players, the referee was forced to stop the game in the 70th minute while players and officials cleared the rubbish.
And while the litter act appeared to be an apt metaphor for Lyon's rubbish performance up until that point, it seemed to do the trick with the home side at least clawing back a goal to salvage a 1-all draw.
