Football: New Cristiano Ronaldo sculpture far better than last bust

The now infamous, unflattering sculpture of Cristiano Ronaldo has been long forgotten after another bust of the football superstar earned rave reviews.

Emanuel Santos was mocked worldwide earlier this year when the bronze sculpture to honour Ronaldo and the renaming of Madeira's airport was unveiled. Though Santos assured the public that the airport, the footballer's mother Dolores and Ronaldo himself approved of the final sculpture, the piece was mostly ridiculed.

Santos blamed not having Ronaldo model for him in person for the inaccuracies. The eyes were too narrow, the smile crooked and his expression only vaguely resembling that of the Real Madrid striker. 

Sculptor Jose Antonio Navarro Arteaga was charged with making another bust of Ronaldo for the club's museum, and this time, CR7 fans were not let down. 

It's so pleasing to the eye some critics were even claiming it's a little too kind to the part-time underwear model.
