World football governing body FIFA has filed a criminal complaint against British comedian Simon Brodkin for trespassing, the Zurich city police said on Tuesday.

Brodkin crashed a news conference held by FIFA president Sepp Blatter on Monday at the organisation's headquarters in Zurich and showered the 79-year-old Swiss with fake dollar bills.

"This is for North Korea 2026," Brodkin said. "As an ambassador for North Korean football, I'm happy to conclude the deal between FIFA and North Korea for the 2026 World Cup."

Brodkin was taken to a police station after the incident and was questioned before being released.

The Swiss prosecutor's office will now decide whether to proceed with charges against him.
