Sam Kerr makes history as last ever cover athlete for FIFA video game
Australia's Sam Kerr is set to grace the cover of the upcoming edition of the FIFA video game series, taking centre stage alongside Kylian Mbappe.
The Chelsea striker was unveiled as one half of the FIFA 23 cover, sitting next to the World Cup winning PSG superstar.
Kerr has enjoyed a brilliant two-and-a-half years in London, scoring nearly a goal a game at the Blues, and being named the Super League's player of the season for 2021-22, as Chelsea finished on top of the ladder for the third consecutive year.

Kerr's Matildas teammate Steph Catley featured on the cover of an Australian regional variant of FIFA 16, but Kerr becomes the first woman to be front and centre across the globe.
EA, the developers of the game, made an estimated $2 billion across their 'Ultimate Team' game mode last year, with FIFA being responsible for the lion's share.
EA will lose the rights to the sport's governing body after next year's release - which means that Kerr will be on the last ever FIFA release - after FIFA 23, their next game is set to be called EA SPORTS FC.
The immensely-popular franchise was launched in 1993 with FIFA International Soccer, and became a yearly release corresponding with the upcoming year, from FIFA 95 onwards.
The franchise is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling sports video game of all time, with more than 325 million copies sold between that first release and 2021.
