Fans fume at FFA W-League stage shocker

It seems Football Federation Australia just can't get a trophy presentation right.

Last year, then-FFA chief Frank Lowy tumbled from a curvy AAMI Park presentation dais onto the pitch as he prepared to hand the A-League trophy to Melbourne Victory.

On Sunday, W-League fans fumed when they missed out on seeing Melbourne City, winners of the grand final, raise the championship trophy.

Only one half of AAMI Park had been opened to the crowd for the grand final, situated opposite the television cameras.

League organisers erected a stage and backdrop which left the 4206 fans with no view of the championship moment.

The crowd let FFA chiefs Steven Lowy and David Gallop know all about their frustrations, booing loudly at a time which should have been a moment of celebration.

"This is a joke," one supporter tweeted, with another calling it an "FFA fail" and "pretty disrespectful.

The victorious team took the W-League championship trophy around the ground's sidelines after the presentation.
