A fan ran on the pitch and attacked a player, forcing a Swedish top-tier league match to be abandoned.

Ostersunds goalkeeper Aly Keita was struck by a fan in the 90th minute of a game away to Jonkopings Sodra on Monday evening.

Footage from the match showed Keita running from his penalty area when he sees a fan pursuing him, then lying on the pitch about 30m from his goal after being struck. Keita was treated for a slight head injury.

The Swedish football federation says in a statement that police arrested a 17-year-old man from Sodertalje, near Stockholm.

Sweden's top referee, Jonas Eriksson, took the teams off the pitch and later abandoned the match.

The federation says it could award a 3-0 win to Ostersunds.
