France shamelessly steal Iceland's viking chant

Seems like the French can't come up with celebrations of their own.

First it was striker Antoine Griezmann nicking Drake's Hotline Bling moves after his double against Germany, then the whole team got in on the celebration appropriation when they shamelessly stole Iceland's 'viking clap'.

The small Scandinavian nation had made it famous at the tournament, performing it after each match during their unlikely run.

That was up until France knocked them out in the quarter-finals on Monday, the hosts spanking the island nation 5-2.

But clearly that wan't enough and the French have now decided to steal the celebration as well, performing it after their 2-0 win over Germany in this morning's semi-final.

And while their rendition did the chant justice, not everyone was appreciative of them using, especially the vikings who they raided it from.

The person in charge of Iceland's official Twitter account was clearly still a bit salty, writing: Jesus christ France...you beat us, find your own way to celebrate your win! #embarrasing

And they weren't the only one's who were somewhat upset about it, with the BBC's chief football writer Phil McNulty throwing in his two cents as well.

Although the Independent's Mark Ogden was a bit of a fan, hoping it might catch on at Anfield next season.
