France jump the gun with victory bus

Well, that’s awkward….

We’ve all heard of parking the bus when it comes to the round-ball game, but perhaps some wise heads at the French Football Federation could have been advised to do so with this particular vehicle. 

Spotted on a French highway in the lead-up to France’s shock 1-0 loss to Portugal in Paris, the bus is adorned with the phrases ‘Champions of Europe 2016’ and ‘Thank you’.

We here at WWOS are by no means experts on the ins and outs of bus customization.  No doubt it isn’t the quickest of processes. 

And, just like football itself, we get that preparation is key. 

But in one of the world’s great cities, boasting a population of more than 12 million, surely there’s somewhere the FFF could have had this done on the sly?  Not to mention transporting it under cover of darkness rather than, you know, a highway in the middle of the day.

But we digress.  It’s probably the least of French football’s concerns right now after going down to a mostly Ronaldo-less Portugal in a final they were heavily favoured to win at home. 

Still, when the initial pain of defeat subsides, they’ll always have this video to remind them of what might have been.
