Unbelievable optical illusion causes football fan frenzy

An incredible optical illusion has thrown football fans watching Reading’s clash with Cardiff City into a frenzy.

The shade coming from Cardiff City Stadium’s terraces covered one side of the pitch, and when a Reading player was throwing the ball back into play it appeared as if he was taking the throw from well inside the pitch.

While home fans were livid over the fact that the player had seemingly managed to fool the referee, the shadow was due to the advertising boards displayed beyond the sideline.

Despite the outrage the player was standing in a legal position, as Cardiff City went on to secure their spot in next year’s English Premier League with a nil-all draw.

Cardiff will be joined in the EPL by the Wolverhampton Wanderers who are currently nine points ahead of the rest of the competition.
