England fans deliver rousing national anthem in Germany following terror attacks in London

After the horrible events in London earlier in the day, England football fans delivered a particularly rousing rendition of their national anthem before an international friendly against Germany on Thursday (AEDT).

The terror attack in London that left five people dead would have quickly reached the English fans in Dortmund and left them with an empty feeling leading into the match.

They used the national anthem before the match to send a message home that their thoughts were with their countrymen.

The English team also paid their respect during the anthem prior to a match they would lose 1-0.

This is not the first time a football match has been played amid heightened terror fears.

Explosions took place outside the State de France in Paris and killed three people during the terror attacks on that city in 2015.
