Elaborate 'walking wall' routine leads to free kick goal

Powered by

A Japanese high school football team taking a free kick has turned the table on their opposition with an elaborate routine that featured two walls of their own.

East Fukuoka lined up for a free kick on the edge of the box with three players lined up conventionally in front of the defensive team’s wall while another three players are positioned less than a metre from the ball.

Footage shows the trio back towards the goal arm-in-arm before ducking in time with their teammates behind them when the taker kicks the ball.

No doubt distracted by the smoke and mirrors of the two walls, the goalkeeper is helpless as the ball flies through a gap in the defensive wall and into the bottom right corner of the goal.
