Borussia Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc on Wednesday didn't want to join speculation over who would replace Bayern Munich-bound Mats Hummels as centre back at the Bundesliga runners-up.

Bayer Leverkusen's Turkey international Omer Toprak, 26, is said to be the number one target from within the Bundesliga, owing to his experience which includes the Champions League. He has a contract at Leverkusen until 2018.

But Austrian Aleksandar Dragovic of Dynamo Kiev, Napoli's Senegalese Kalidou Koulibaly and Real Madrid's Frenchman Raphael Varane are reportedly also under consideration by Dortmund.

"Many names are being mentioned but I won't go through them now," Zorc told dpa. "We have our ideas which we want to implement."

It was announced Tuesday that Hummels will leave Dortmund after more than eight years to return to his home town at Bayern.

Zorc said he was "disappointed that he has decided against us and transfers to Munich" but Dortmund have in the past managed to compensate losing key players - such as replacing Robert Lewandowski with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mario Goetze with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Shinji Kagawa with Marco Reus.

"We have managed every time to find solutions after such losses, and we will manage it in this case as well," Wednesday's Sueddeutsche Zeitung quoted Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke as saying.
