AT A GLANCE: England's quest for a first World Cup title in 52 years gathered steam with a 2-0 win over Sweden courtesy of headed goals in each half from Harry Maguire and Delle Alli. Croatia surcived their second penalty shootout of the knockout stage after being 1-1 with Russia after 90 minutes and 2-2 after 120 minutes. The 4-3 spot kicks victory was sealed once again by Ivan Rakitic.

PLAYER OF THE DAY: England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford kept a clean sheet for the first time in the tournament making a string of quality saves to keep Sweden at bay, in particular in the second half.
