Craig Foster named as interim PFA chairman

Former Socceroos midfielder and media personality Craig Foster has been announced as the interim chairman of Professional Footballers Australia (PFA).
Foster's appointment was announced on Wednesday after being approved unanimously by the PFA executive committee.
"Craig's contribution to the PFA and the game has been immense and we are delighted that he has agreed to take on the role," said PFA president Matt McKay.

Recent reports suggested a split in the PFA after several A-League clubs failed to renew their subscriptions to the organisation, prompting Foster to pen a column calling for solidarity and unity from the players.
