Copenhagen players pelted with dead rats by Brondby fans in Denmark's Superliga

There is no love lost between bitter rivals Brondby and Copenhagen in Denmark's Superliga.

The two giants of Danish football are situated just over 10 kilometres apart but have a history of hatred towards each other. Consider the footage above as evidence.

Copenhagen was leading 1-0 and Ludwig Augustinsson was jogging over to take a corner when Brondby fans started throwing dead rats at him.

Augustinsson and a teammate started kicking them off the pitch while a security guard was even forced to pick one up by the tail and drop it over near the fence.

The incident happened five minutes before fulltime and failed to have any effect with Copenhagen hanging on for the win to maintain their position on top of the table.
