Bosnich: Clash of styles suggests one of the great finals as Arsenal take on mighty Paris Saint-Germain

Arsenal are rightfully underdogs for the Champions League final.

They boast a brilliant defensive record and are undefeated in Europe this season but they're coming up against a truly great side in Paris Saint-Germain.

I believe this PSG team is one of the best that we've seen in quite some time. Destroying Inter Milan 5-0 in last year's final was an extraordinary achievement.

Football's new home, Stan Sport, is the only place to watch the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, WSL, European World Cup qualifiers, J.League, NSWL and K League

But people tend to forget they have been playing superb, stylish football for a while now.

They were unlucky against Borussia Dortmund in the 2024 semi-finals but manager Luis Enrique is a serial winner.

I think this is going to be a very tight game - even more so now that Arsenal have won the Premier League title.

That takes some pressure off the Gunners but only a bit - this is a massive opportunity to win the club's first Champions League title.

As good a team as they are, you need some luck as well and you just don't know when you will be back on that grand stage.

Arsenal are capable, of course, but I just can't go past Paris to go back-to-back. They are so electric in transition but can shift down in gears and be patient with their buildup as well.

PSG are the first team to reach consecutive Champions League finals since Liverpool in 2018 and 2019.

And only the brilliant Real Madrid team of 2016-18 have managed to win consecutive Champions League titles this century.

What would change my mind? There are rumours that Ousmane Dembele is struggling a bit with his thigh issue.

The Ballon d'Or winner says he'll be fine and he probably will be but if he isn't then Arsenal have a much better shot.

PSG deservedly beat Arsenal in last year's semi-finals but the Gunners got the better of them in the 2024-25 league phase.

Guess who wasn't playing that night? That's right, Dembele.

It really is the dream match-up. You've got the best attacking team, who have scored the most goals, in Paris, against the best defensive team in the competition in Arsenal.

Both clubs won their domestic trophies and if you had to make a composite XI, it would be highly debatable who would be in it.

Arsenal just keep finding a way wherever they play while Paris are an unbelievable force of nature.

As for who to watch? Luis Enrique is spoilt for choice up top. We have mentioned the lethal Dembele but the little Georgian, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, is an absolute wizard with the ball at his feet.

He has Lionel Messi qualities, amazing to watch and a brilliant signing from Napoli.

Then there are two more young French internationals, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola, who are full of pace, menace and confidence.

Vitinha, the Portuguese midfielder, is the man who makes them tick and Achraf Hakimi, Morocco's captain, is an outstanding right back.

You could go on and on. As for Arsenal, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka play for England and are serious attacking talents with a nose for goal. Declan Rice is the heartbeat in midfield and Martin Odegaard and Noni Madueke are other strong attacking threats.

They've got so much depth in that squad. This has got the potential to be one of the great finals.

Luis Enrique is trying to win his third Champions League title which would put him up in a very select group of managers.

Pep Guardiola, Zinedine Zidane and Bob Paisley have won three and only the legend Carlo Ancelotti, with five, has more.

Mikel Arteta is at a different stage of his career. He's looking to make history, the first Champions League trophy in Arsenal's 140-year history. They've been in the final once before, in 2005 against Barcelona, but came up short against an iconic team.

What he has done this season is find the right balance between attack and defence. There were times earlier on in his reign where they played some wonderful attacking football but they were a bit light defensively.

There were times last season when Odegaard was injured that they went ultra-defensive. This season he's found the balance and he's found the way.

When Arsenal beat PSG last season they actually started off with a 4-4-2. The two games they were defeated, in the semi-final, was a 4-3-3. So they'll be looking at things like that and he'll definitely have a plan to stop them.

Will Arsenal just go, 'alright, you can have the ball, no problem?' Is that the key to success? Going up against Paris in terms of possession might be something they don't worry about.

But they are also smart enough to understand they can't just sit back and defend for the whole game and rely on hitting them on the break.

If Paris get one goal, and you have to come out, they can get two, three, four and five as we saw against Inter Milan last season.

Strikers win you games, defenders win you titles. That's what we were told as youngsters.

But Arsenal have got defenders that can win you titles and win you games. They are the best in the world at set-pieces and they've got strikers defending at a high level and defenders attacking at a high level, which has really proved to be the difference.

They'll need all of that to beat this outstanding Paris team.
