Celtic without Rogic for ECL qualifier

Socceroo Tom Rogic will be one of four players missing from the Celtic line-up ahead of Tuesday's European Champions League qualifier against Alashkert in Yerevan.

Rogic, Mikael Lustig, Dedryck Boyata and Cristian Gamboa will miss Celtic's opening match due to their World Cup commitments.

Belgian Boyata is readying himself for their semi-final against France while Rogic, Lustig (Sweden) and Gamboa (Costa Rica) are recuperating.

Rogic played in every match of Australia's failed campaign in Russia where the Socceroos were eliminated in the group stage following defeats to France and Peru, and a second-match draw with Denmark.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping skipper Scott Brown, who came off with a knee complaint at half-time in their friendly win over Shamrock Rovers in Dublin on Saturday, will take his place after training with the Hoops squad.

Leigh Griffiths, Marvin Compper and Jonny Hayes are struggling with various knocks and no certainty to take the field.
