Celtic's Rodgers set to manage Leicester

Celtic's Brendan Rodgers is set to return to the Premier League as the new manager of Leicester City, according to widespread media reports.

The Herald newspaper says the Northern Irishman, who has led Celtic to back to back trebles of League and both cups since arriving at the Scottish club in 2016, has already left the club.

Former Liverpool manager Rodgers was immediately installed as the bookmakers' favourite for the Leicester job after the sacking of Claude Puel last week.

Newspaper reports said Celtic had given the 46-year-old permission to speak to Leicester.

Having managed Watford, Reading and Swansea City, Rodgers took over at Liverpool in 2012, taking charge for three seasons.

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon is tipped to return to the club as the replacement for Rodgers.
