Celtic eyeing tough Champions League test
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will put no great importance on Borussia Monchengladbach's injury and illness problems ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash at Parkhead on Thursday morning AEDT.
Attackers Raffael and Thorgan Hazard and defender Andreas Christensen are out through injury, while USA international Fabian Johnson did not travel to Glasgow for the Group C clash due to illness.
Rodgers' side go into the game unbeaten domestically and on the back of an encouraging 3-3 draw with Manchester City last month, in which Socceroos forward Tom Rogic played a leading role.
Consequently the chances of a home win, which would go a long way to ensuring the Hoops remain in Europe after Christmas, is not as fanciful as it might have been after the 7-0 defeat by Barcelona on match day one.
However, the former Swansea and Liverpool boss insists the Germans have enough players of quality to call upon.
He said: "It's always an opportunity for someone else.
"Like ourselves, if we have players missing there's always others to step in.
"It'll be exactly the same for them. They have outstanding players and I am sure they have a squad there who can come in.
"They are still going to be a very good team.
"They play 3-4-3 so offensively they always have numbers around the ball.
"They like to work and press so it should be a really good game and we have to find the solutions to exploit that."
