Brisbane Roar sign striker Eli Babalj

Brisbane Roar have strengthened their forward stocks by signing Eli Babalj for the remainder of the A-League season.

Babalj, who has two Socceroo caps, has signed on as an injury replacement player, after completing a trial with the Roar, who are ninth on the ladder.

The well travelled forward has played in Serbia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and most recently India.

His list of former club includes Red Star Belgrade and AZ Alkmaar.

The 27-year-old forward started his senior career with Melbourne Heart (now City) and also played in the A-League with Adelaide United
