Bird's-eye view dumbfounds footballers

A group of footballers have squared-off in a comical match after being asked to wear special glasses that offered only a bird's-eye view of the play.

The clash was organised as an experiment by a Norwegian television show and saw each of the footballers, as well as the referee, don virtual reality headsets.The headgear provided a live stream from a camera above the indoor pitch, meaning every player had to first identify himself before delicately maneuvering around the field to find the ball.And judging by their movements, it's clear that the view played tricks on the players' brains.Instead of moving forward, some players moved backwards, the goalkeepers regularly dived in the wrong direction and even goal celebrations appeared in slow-motion as players gently located one another to embrace.We're not sure if the experiment actually proved a point, but it certainly made for a good laugh.
