Bayern Munich take 3-1 win over Darmstadt

- A Thomas Mueller double has helped Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich secure a 3-1 victory over battling Darmstadt on Saturday, while Borussia Moenchengladbach earned local pride with a 1-0 derby win over Cologne.

Darmstadt opened the scoring through former Bayern striker Sandro Wagner in the 26th minute but Mueller levelled early in the second half and netted a sensational overhead kick with 19 minutes left.

Robert Lewandowski added a late third for Bayern who now lead the table by 11 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund, who travel to Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

Gladbach had only Mahmoud Dahoud's goal to show for their dominance against Cologne but held on to win. In the other games Hoffenheim edged Mainz 3-2, Ingolstadt beat Werder Bremen 2-0 and Hertha Berlin drew 1-1 with Wolfsburg.

Sunday action also sees Schalke host VfB Stuttgart and bottom club Hanover welcome Augsburg in a relegation battle.

On Friday Eintracht Frankfurt and SV Hamburg played out a goalless draw.
