Bale shows off his silky skills

Gareth Bale has demonstrated the skills that prompted Real Madrid to pay a world record fee for him by calmly kicking a football through a basketball hoop.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Spanish giants for a reported $149.4m in September 2013, posted a video to his Instagram account that shows him impressing some friends with his ball juggling skills.

The former Tottenham star then nonchalantly kicks the ball into a nearby basketball hoop.

We're not sure how many takes it took to nail the impressive shot, but with skills like those it's clear that his transfer fee was money well spent.
