Brighton forward Florin Andone has been handed a three-match suspension for violent conduct.

The Romania international denied the charge following an apparent elbow on West Brom midfielder Sam Field during Wednesday's FA Cup fourth-round replay at The Hawthorns.

But the 25-year-old, who escaped punishment from referee Paul Tierney during the game, has been banned retrospectively by the FA.

Andone, who scored the equaliser in the Seagulls' 3-1 extra-time victory against the Baggies, will now be unavailable for Saturday's Premier League match with Burnley at the Amex Stadium.

He will also miss Albion's FA Cup fifth-round tie with Derby on February 16 and the league trip to Leicester 10 days later.
