Alaves follow up win with goalless draw

Promoted Alaves followed their historic win at Barcelona with a 0-0 home draw against Deportivo La Coruna on Monday.

Both teams failed to capitalise on their scoring chances at the Mendizorroza Stadium, missing a chance to move up the standings after four rounds.

Alaves, which stunned Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou last week, are ninth with six points, while Deportivo are 11th with five points.

Alaves are unbeaten since returning to the top flight this season. Deportivo haven't won since their opener at Eibar.

"We did everything possible to get the win but it wasn't possible," Alaves defender Theo Hernandez said.

"We have to keep working hard and adding points."

Real Madrid lead the league with 12 points. Barcelona and Las Palmas have nine points each.
